SAN JOSE, Calif., November 23, 2009—HiT Software®, Inc., a leader in database access, integration and replication, today announced the general availability of Ritmo™ Mobile, a new version of HiT Software’s popular family of high-performance data providers. Ritmo Mobile is designed to connect .NET mobile applications with IBM DB2 databases.

Ritmo Mobile delivers a set of functionality tailored for mobile data access, taking advantage of the same protocols, standards and security as HiT’s other Ritmo drivers. Ritmo Mobile gives .NET application designers direct access to DB2 data and enables delivery of that data to small, portable devices in the field. It also can be easily embedded in mobile applications by systems integrators and independent software vendors who want access to DB2 data in their applications for functions such as sales, field service, logistics, distribution or inventory management.

In conjunction with HiT Software’s SafeConduct security product, Ritmo Mobile provides 256-bit encryption and digital certificate authentication, securing critical application data from intrusion or loss.

Ritmo is the family of 100% .NET managed providers that allow Windows .NET applications access to IBM DB2 data. The Ritmo Mobile family includes two products: “Ritmo/i Mobile” for accessing DB2 data on IBM i and “Ritmo/DB2 Mobile” for accessing IBM DB2 data on mainframes, Linux, Unix and Windows.
