Smartphone sales increased in the third quarter of 2011 by 42% compared to the prior year. This surge in sales has inevitably increased the number of employees bringing their own devices to work and using them for business purposes. Take a look around the office; you will see colleagues on iPads, iPhones, and an extensive range of other devices. Although many organisations are embracing the resulting upturn in employee productivity, IT departments will be despairing. Employees can now access to the entire enterprise – the corporate network, proprietary business applications, and sensitive data – from a device small enough to fit in their pocket. |
